    Heaver and longer trucks which has 25 meter length have been introducing Japanese freight market. We collected actual driving data based on GPS, accelerometer and heart rate monitor in 2018. By the data analyses, we clarified many characteristic regarding driver's stress, vehicle's conditions. Moreover we conducted many interview survey on freight companies, truck body manufacture and expressway company, and we summarized many actual topics to be studied.

  • Analysis of the impact of COVID-19 on tourism supply and demand by travel and Lodging survey

    The various analyses using overnight travel statistics were able to achieve satisfactory results in the first year. The results of the analysis were also published in the Japanese Journal of JSCE, and are considered to be an achievement that has been recognized academically. However, the analysis of the effects of the coronal disaster could not be completed in three years because the recovery was delayed for more than one year. However, I am planning to continue acquiring data until the end of the three-year period, so I expect to obtain valuable results in the future.

  • A Study on Reliable Regional Tourism Statistics Using Data Fusion Technique

    This study aims to provide fundamental proposals for the development and utilization of tourism statistics and data that are useful for the planning and implementation of policies and projects by Destination Management Organizations (DMOs). It consists of six sub-research themes: (1) a methodological study on the evaluation of regional tourism policies using accommodation-related statistics, (2) research on short-term forecasting techniques for the human mobility in regions, (3) research on new ideas to utilize big data on the human mobility toward implementing national and regional tourism policies, (4) research on understanding changes in consumer behavior and industrial damage caused by COVID-19 using credit card transaction data, (5) research on the ripple effects of tourism promotion on the regional economy, and (6) research related to the database construction of information on tourism resources and event implementation.
